GES Officially Confirms Dr. Eric Nkansah As Director General

Management of Ghana Education Service has officially confirmed Ag. Director General,  Dr. Eric Nkansah, as Director General of the service.

Mr. Eric Nkansah (PhD), was appointed on October 19, 2022, by the President of the Republic of Ghana to replace Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa.

In a letter dated January 4, 2023, management expressed to all Regional Directors of Education to address all written circulars with the appropriate call.

“Management wishes to inform you that Dr. Eric Nkansah, Ag. Director-General has officially beon confirmed as the Directcr-General of the Service.

In effect, all correspondents and memoranda should be addressed as such. Congratulations to Dr. Eric. Nkansah, Director-General, Ghana Education Service!” — the letter stated.

Three teacher unions; Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana, declared industrial strike at a press conference in Accra (Oct. 3, 2022) over displeasure of the appointment of Mr. Eric Nkansah (PhD).

Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations invited the unions involved over and found amicable solutions to the striking issue.
