Atsu’s Family Appear At Saint James Park As Newcastle, Liverpool Pay Tribute To Player

Christian Atsu’s wife and children were present at the Saints James Park on Saturday, February 18, 2023 when Newcastle United lost to Liverpool.

This was after Christian Atsu’s agent confirmed the player has been found dead for being trapped under the rubble following the earthquake in Turkey.

Before the start of the game, both clubs paid tribute to the departed Atsu who once played as a winger in the English Premier League for Newcastle United.

Marie-Claire Rupio was uncontrollably emotional as she wept when late Atsu’s former club, Newcastle United and Liverpool paid tribute to her husband.

The entire Premier League sympathized with the family when the sad news broke: “We are deeply saddened by the news Christian Atsu lost his life in the devastation of the earthquakes that have hit Turkey and Syria.”,

Our thoughts and condolences are with Christian’s family and friends and everyone affected by this tragic event.” the wrote of Facebook.

Atsu also played for Chelsea and Bournemouth in English.

What a sad day for the family. May God give them extra strength to go through this terrible period of their life.
