Skipper of the Senior National Soccer Team of Ghana, Andre Ayew will miss Black Star’s return league match against the Palancas Negras of Angola on Monday, March 20, 2023.

He missed the first leg match in Kumasi. Chris-Hughton gave explanation to why he dropped the captain and said it was a decision in favour of the team despite Ayew’s qualities.

According to the results of an MRI scan, Andre is not match fit to be part of Monday’s team. Reports from the Ghana Football Association said the skipper has been left behind as the rest of the team fly to Angola on Saturday evening.

Defensive center pair Mohamed Salisu who was not fit before the first leg and Alexander Dziku who sustained a last-minute injury last Thursday will also miss the trip to Angola. Denis Odoi was also ruled out due to knocks picked up this week.

Ghana will face Angola in the second leg on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Estádio 11 de Novembre in Luanda.
