Adisadel Viral Video Of Violence: GES Directs Regional Director, Other Agencies To Investigate For Appropriate Action.

Management of the Ghana Education Service has directed the Central Regional Director of Education to liaise with the school authorities of Adisadel College and the relevant law enforcement agency to investigate into a video of assault for appropriate action.

This direction follows a viral video posted on the internet involving a student (supposedly senior) violently strangling the neck of another student (supposedly junior) in one dormitory at Adisadel college.

In a letter signed by Cassandra Twum Ampofo (GES head of Public Relations Unit) with reference number My Ref: GES/ PR/ RELEASE/92, dated July 24, 2023, GES has condemned  the barbaric action in the video and has assured the general public that the matter has been taken seriously “and are committed to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all students across the country”.

They further commented management of the school for immediately suspending the student who was involved in assaulting the other.

“We applaud the school authorities for taking swift action to suspend the culprit pending further investigation”, part of the letter read.
