Students of Ofoase Kokoben Senior High School in the Bekwai Municipality have staged a demonstration against their headmistress, Mrs. Juliet Amankwah Kessewah, over alleged mismanagement and what they describe as the gradual collapse of the school.
A video circulating online, posted by video blogger Sika Official on Wednesday February 19, 2025, captures the agitated students, mostly boys, protesting in their light green uniforms. In the video, one student is heard shouting in Twi, “Y’abrɛ wo”, which translates to “We’re tired of you”.
Despite their frustration, the protest remained peaceful, with students appearing willing to listen to those attempting to calm them down. No reports of violence have emerged so far.
Authorities are yet to officially respond to the students’ concerns.
