Mr. Clement Abban, a teacher at Taido M/A Basic School in Anomabo, Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region, has been named the valedictorian at the 13th session of the 57th Congregation of the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

Graduating with a remarkable Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.9 out of 4.0, Mr. Abban emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student of the Institute of Education (5-Semester Sandwich Programme) under the College of Education Studies.

Born on March 11, 1998, Clement hails from Kojokrom in the Shama Ahanta East Municipality of the Western Region. He began his educational journey at Prophet Nkansah M/A School, before moving on to St. John’s School, where he completed his secondary education in 2016. Guided by the school’s motto “Viam Parantes” (Preparing the Way), Clement set his sights on teaching.

He later pursued Mathematics and Technical Education at Komenda College of Education, graduating in 2020. Since then, he has been a dedicated staff member at Taido M/A Basic School, where he continues to inspire young learners through his passion for teaching.

Clement is a proud supporter of Division Two football club Abura Dunkwa Galaxy FC and Chelsea FC, currently managed by Italian coach Enzo Maresca. Off the pitch, he enjoys football, playing PlayStation soccer games, and is a devout member of the Church of Christ, Ghana.

He looks up to the late Professor Francis Kofi Ampenyin Allotey, the renowned Ghanaian mathematical physicist, as his role model.
