A group of aggrieved teachers have resolved to spend the night at the Ghana Education Service (GES) Headquarters in Accra in protest over delays in the issuance of staff IDs and unresolved salary challenges.
The teachers, who gathered earlier today, say the delays have caused significant financial hardship, with some working for months without pay. They accuse the GES and other authorities of failing to address their concerns despite repeated complaints.
According to the group, they will present a formal petition to the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday. They also plan to picket at Parliament to demand immediate action.
“We are not leaving until our voices are heard,” one of the teachers stated. “Our families are suffering, and this silence from the authorities is unacceptable.”
The Ghana Education Service has yet to issue an official response to the protest.
