The Chief of Staff of the Republic of Ghana, Mr. Julius Debrah, has called for a national shift in mindset regarding the role of education in preparing the youth for the future. Speaking, Mr. Debrah emphasized that while formal education remains vital, it is no longer sufficient on its own to meet the challenges of today’s world.

“Education alone is not enough. We must bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical business experience,” Mr. Debrah stated, addressing issues relating to students, educators, entrepreneurs, and policy makers.

“We must show our young people what is possible by opening the doors of enterprise and governance to them,” he said, calling for a deliberate effort to integrate entrepreneurship and innovation into national development policies.

According to Mr. Debrah, when young Ghanaians are equipped with the right skills, networks, and support systems, they become not just job seekers but job creators. “When we equip our youth with the right skills, networks and platforms, they won’t only find jobs, they will create them,” he added.

He further advocated for a Ghana where no young person is left behind, stressing that the future must be built on inclusive development driven by innovation.
