An invigilator at Forces Senior High Technical School (Forces SHTS), Burma Camp, is under investigation after a visiting team from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) found suspected examination questions on his mobile phone during ongoing exams.
According to reports by Joy News, the incident occurred when the WAEC monitoring team became suspicious of the invigilator’s unusual dressing and decided to probe further. A quick check on his phone reportedly revealed copies of exam questions, including Picture Making and Oral English, which had already been circulated.
His phone was immediately confiscated, and WAEC officials have directed him to provide a written explanation for why he carried the device into the examination hall — a direct breach of invigilation rules — and how those leaked questions came to be on it.
The case adds to growing concerns about exam malpractice in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). WAEC has repeatedly warned invigilators, teachers, and candidates that strict monitoring measures are in place and that anyone caught aiding or abetting malpractice will face severe sanctions, including possible prosecution.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
