The Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, from office following the circulation of a viral video allegedly involving him in a compromised position with a female student.
In a statement signed by Mr. Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, management described the matter as “grave” and emphasized its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of students and maintaining the integrity of the teaching profession.
According to the release, Mr. Aidoo has been barred from entering the school premises while investigations are ongoing. GES assured stakeholders that due process will be followed, and disciplinary measures will be taken in accordance with the Service’s code of conduct.
“GES strongly condemns any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of students. We remain committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools,” the statement read.
The Service further reassured parents, guardians, and the public of its unwavering dedication to student safety and the protection of their rights.
