A young lady, 21, and a year-old final-year student at A.M.E Zion Senior High School in the Central Region has died after being attacked by bees on the school campus.
The student, Emmanuella Quainoo, had enrolled in the school to retake her exams and improve her science results after a previous WASSCE attempt. The incident happened around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, when she was suddenly attacked by a swarm of bees.
She was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, but sadly, she did not survive. Doctors said she needed urgent treatment, including a blood transfusion, but her condition worsened very fast.
According to Citi News, on Thursday, March 19, her grandmother, Vida Ayi Mensah, shared her grief. She said they rushed to the school after hearing the news and took her to the hospital, but she passed away the following day.
She added that doctors asked them to buy some medicines and prepare for a blood transfusion. However, while she was at the pharmacy, she received a call that Emmanuella had died.
