The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced an increase in the price of sachet water because the cost of production has gone up.

The new prices will take effect from Monday, April 6, 2026. According to the association, the cost of important materials used to produce sachet water, especially plastics for packaging, has increased. This is partly due to global supply problems and the ongoing conflict in Iran, which has affected supply and raised prices.

Under the new pricing, a bag of 30 sachets (500ml each) will be sold at GH¢8 at the factory, increased to GH¢10 when supplied by delivery trucks, and should not be sold for more than GH¢15 at the retail level.

NASPAWAP said producers can no longer keep prices the same because of the rising costs. They added that the new prices are to help businesses continue operating and to keep the supply of safe drinking water steady.

The association has asked retailers and distributors to follow the new price guidelines to ensure fairness in the market.

This price increase is expected to affect many homes and small businesses, since sachet water is widely used across the country.
