The wife of renowned Ghanaian Gospel musician Yaw Sarpong aired her grievances on Oyerepa FM’s popular show hosted by Auntie Naa. This broadcast, which aired on Friday, June 21, 2024, was marked by explosive allegations from Mrs. Sarpong, shedding light on purported infidelity and financial mismanagement within her marriage.

During the radio session, Mrs. Sarpong accused her husband, famous for hits like ‘Wo Haw Ne Sen’, of engaging in an extramarital affair with Maame Tiwaa, a member of his band. She claimed to have discovered Tiwaa caring for Yaw Sarpong at a prayer camp while she had been instructed to remain at home, attending to household matters.

Furthermore, Mrs. Sarpong expressed dismay over the handling of a significant financial contribution from Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Allegedly, despite her suggestion to use the GHS 100,000 to complete their home, her proposal was disregarded, exacerbating existing tensions in their nearly four-decade marriage.

Nana Poku Ashis, the manager of Yaw Sarpong, responded to the allegations during a phone interview with ZionFelix, expressing disappointment in Mrs. Sarpong’s approach to addressing marital issues publicly rather than through private channels. Ashis emphasized that there were alternative methods to resolve any grievances and hinted at potential actions that may be taken in due course.

The revelations on Auntie Naa’s show have sent shockwaves through Ghana’s Gospel music community, prompting discussions about marital fidelity and financial transparency within high-profile relationships. As the situation unfolds, fans and supporters of Yaw Sarpong are left hoping for an amicable resolution to the public airing of these deeply personal matters.
