President John Dramani Mahama has officially announced that the long-standing contract between the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and Zoomlion Ghana Limited will not be renewed after its expiration. The decision brings an end to the 19-year partnership between the two entities, amid ongoing concerns about corruption and mismanagement.

The announcement was made in a letter dated June 11, 2025, addressed to investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni. The letter, signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, stated: “His Excellency the President acknowledges the serious concerns raised in your letter and responds as follows: 1. Expiration of Contract: The contract between Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and Zoomlion Ghana Limited (Zoomlion) has expired and will not be renewed.”

The termination of the contract follows more than a decade of investigative reporting and advocacy by Manasseh Azure Awuni, who has spent the last 12 years exposing alleged irregularities in the agreement. His work has played a significant role in bringing the matter to national attention and prompting government action.
