Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG) and the Justice Revived Foundation (JRF) are in demands of a swift actionable response after a horrifying incident of alleged gang-rape involving a 13-year-old school girl from Madina, Accra.

The act which involved over 20 men including teenagers took place in February 2025, and has since left the girl pregnant and emotionally traumatized.

According to the statement from Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG), copied to GNA, the victim courageously disclosed that the main suspect, a 45-year-old mason Clement Kwame, resided close to her home. According to the girl, Clement KWAME deceived her by giving false promises, and later coordinated the act with several others in which some were believed to be his friends.

The suspects later threatened the victim to remain silent which prevented her to speak earlier.

The case is currently being handled by the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) in Madina. Although some arrests have reportedly been made, HRRG and JRF are deeply concerned that key suspects — including Clement Kwame — are still at large.

The organisations are urging authorities to fast-track investigations and ensure the victim receives the highest level of care and compassion.

HRRG and JRF are calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Clement Kwame and all other suspects, along with comprehensive support for the victim, including medical, psychological, and social care. Emphasizing that every child has a right to safety, they vow not to rest until justice is served. The case highlights the urgent need for stronger child protection measures in Ghana, and the organisations are urging all stakeholders to enforce existing laws and create a safer environment for children.
