Ghana’s Black Stars Mourn the Passing of Physical Trainer Romeo Ricky Roy

The Ghanaian football community is in mourning following the reported passing of Romeo Ricky Roy, the esteemed Physical Trainer of Ghana’s Black Stars. Roy’s death, which occurred on Sunday, April 28, in Accra, has left the football fraternity in shock and sorrow.

In 2021, Roy transitioned to the Black Stars backroom staff, where he made significant contributions to the team’s training regimen. 

Prior to that, he served as the team’s physical trainer under the leadership of Milovan Rajevac during his second tenure in charge of the senior national team.

Roy’s dedication and expertise were further showcased during the team’s training sessions in Qatar ahead of the World Cup 2022 and during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 in Abidjan.
