CHAN: How We Managed To Beat Sudan – David Abagna Tells It All

Black Galaxies’ midfielder, David Abagna has revealed what urged his side to wrestle back after conceding against Sudan in the 31st minute.

In a match where Ghana needed a must win to progress to the next stage of the African Nations Championship, the Sudanese surprised Ghana by taking lead in the first half.

According to Abagna, 24, he motivated his teammates to fight back for a vital win on Ghana’s second match of the tournament.

“When we conceded the goal, I told myself that we can’t go down and I also spoke to my teammates. We had to psych each other up. We had to push because it was a make-or-break situation” said midfielder.

Ghana fought back to win 3-1 with goals from  Konadu Yiadom before half-time, a penalty scored by Daniel Afriyie Barnieh to put Ghana ahead but he got red-carded in the 97th minute, and, a third goal from Suraj Seidu to secure all three points for Ghana.

David Abagna was awarded man of the match award for his outstanding contribution to Ghana’s team on the night.
