English Tottenham Hotspur Football Club Have confirmed South Korean International, Heung-Min Son will undergo surgery soon after getting an injury in a Champions League match against Olympic Marseille. Doctors of the club have asked this to be done to stabilise a fracture around his left eye.
Son got injured in the first department of Tuesday’s comeback victory by Tottenham in France. Marseille scored the first goal but response from Lenglet and another late one from Hoejbjerg saw Tottenham wining by 2:1 to qualify them to knockout phase as group winners.
On Wednesday evening, November 2, 2022, the club issued a statement; “We can confirm that Heung-Min Son will undergo surgery to stabilise a fracture around his left eye.
“The South Korea international suffered the injury during the first half of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League victory at Olympique Marseille.
“Following surgery, Son will commence rehabilitation with our medical staff and we shall update supporters further in due course.”
With the World Cup starting in few days, it is uncertain whether the 30-year-old will be fit enough and return to represent his country.
Ghana is in group H with Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay. The Black Stars of Ghana will play South Korea as its second group H match on November 28, 2022 at 1:00pm.
