Daddy Lumba Recounts How Nana Acheampong Introduced Him To Highlife Music. [Watch]
At the KAB-FAM Legends Night yesterday at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on January 1, 2023, music legend, Daddy Lumba, recounted how his long time friend, Nana Acheampong introduced him to Highlife genre.
Lumba revealed he was a gospel singer in Germany until Nana Acheampong convinced him to performing highlife music.
“When I went to Germany, I was only into Gospel music. The person who introduced me to Highlife music is standing right beside me (Nana Acheampong). I am Daddy Lumba because of Nana Acheampong so patronize his works on YouTube as you do for me,” he disclosed.
The Lumba brothers performed together at the KAB-FAM Legends Night, singing their well-known song ‘Yee Ye Aka Akwantuom’.
As part of the many performances of the event, Nana Acheampong performed the evergreen ‘Nanka Ebeye den’ song to thrill his fans and all patrons and music lovers who attended the event.
