Drummer, Sol Amarfio Of Osibisa Has Died At 84

One of the founding members of the Osibisa band, Sol Amarfio, has died at age 84.

Sol Amarfio was a world-class drummer who was instrumental in almost all the performances of Osibisa band during his active days.

Apart from drums, Sol Amarfio was also known for his expertise on percussion. He was born in 1938 and died on Dec 13, 2022. May he rest well.

Osibisa were the most successful and longest lived of the African-heritage rock-bands in London. The band was founded by four West Africans (Ghanaians) and three Caribbeans.

The original band was known as the beautiful seven until the name changed to Osibisa. The name changed after the band’s first three studio albums.
