The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced the release of funds to all Senior High Schools (SHS) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS) across the country to cover costs associated with the 2025 WASSCE practical examinations.
In a statement signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES, the payment is aimed at ensuring that all practical components of the upcoming WASSCE are fully supported. This includes the provision of materials, equipment, and other essential resources needed for subjects such as Science, Home Economics, Visual Arts, and Technical courses.
According to GES, the release of the funds is also intended to relieve parents and guardians of any financial burden, allowing students to focus fully on their studies and examination preparations.
“With the release of the funds, GES seeks to facilitate a smooth and well-coordinated examination process,” the statement noted.
Regional, district, and school authorities have been strongly urged to ensure that the funds are used strictly for their intended purpose. The Service has pledged to monitor utilisation closely to promote transparency, efficiency, and accountability.
GES also extended appreciation to all stakeholders for their continued support in improving the quality of education in Ghana, reaffirming its commitment to creating a conducive learning environment for academic success.
