Accra, Ghana – March 27, 2025 – The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a change in the reopening date for all Single Track Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools across the country. Originally scheduled to reopen earlier, these schools will now resume academic activities on April 23, 2025.
A statement signed by Mr. Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, on behalf of the Acting Director-General of GES, directed all Regional Directors of Educationto ensure that the new reopening date is effectively communicated to the heads of affected schools, parents, guardians, and students.
While the GES did not state the reason for the change, the rescheduling is expected to allow all stakeholders sufficient time to make the necessary preparations.
Parents and students are urged to take note of the new date and plan accordingly to ensure a smooth return to academic work.
For further inquiries, stakeholders are advised to contact their respective regional and district education offices.
