“No Room for Corruption in Our Exams!” — GES Boss Warns Invigilators as Over 460,000 Begin 2025 WASSCE
The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, has issued a stern warning to all invigilators and supervisors ahead of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), stressing that anyone found aiding exam malpractice will be dismissed without hesitation.
Prof. Davis made the declaration on Monday, August 4, 2025, as 461,640 candidates across the country began this year’s WASSCE.
“There should be no tolerance for examination malpractice,” he said. “We know the consequences of such actions on the credibility of our certificates and the entire education system. We are committed to safeguarding the integrity of our examinations.”
He revealed that the GES Council has granted full authority to dismiss any invigilator or supervisor caught engaging in or facilitating malpractice. “The message is clear: if you’re caught, you will be dismissed,” Prof. Davis emphasized.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service has extended its best wishes to all candidates sitting the exams. “Believe in your preparation, stay disciplined, and avoid any malpractice. Go and make Ghana proud,” the GES urged.
The 2025 WASSCE marks a crucial milestone for thousands of final-year students across Ghana, with the nation keen on upholding the highest standards of academic integrity.
