The Ghana Teacher Prize (GTP) for 2024 has been officially launched in Accra, aiming to honor the dedication and hard work of teachers across the country. The event, set to take place from October 3 to 5 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, will align with World Teachers’ Day. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Excellence: Valorising Our Teachers.”

The awards will include several categories: Most Outstanding Teacher, Best College of Education Teacher, Best Teacher in Leadership and Administration, Best Non-Teaching Staff, Best KG Teacher, Best Primary School Teacher, Best JHS Teacher, and Best SHS Teacher. A new addition is the award for Best Differentiated Learning Teacher.

Deputy Minister of Education, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, emphasized the importance of recognizing teachers as education is pivotal for national development. He highlighted Ghanaian educators’ impressive performance in the Global Teacher Prize and encouraged teachers, particularly those in challenging regions, to share their transformative stories.
