Ghanaian songstress Jackline Acheampong professionally known as Gyakie has added her voice to the running of second cycle system of education in Ghana. She said in an interview with Accra FM’s Nana Romeo that the Senior High School double track system should be paid keen attention to by the government of the Republic of Ghana.
Gyakie recounted and compared the running and duration of learning hours when she was in the Senior High School and said the difference stands very huge; there was more learning hours previously than the current system.
“I have a sister at the secondary and it looks different from my time. She calls me sometimes and say some things. There’s been a huge difference. Sometimes I get confused how the Secondary School system is now” – she said.
She further added passionately;
“I think they need to pay attention to that sector. The calendar, the times they go to school and come back. Even before she went to school they stayed home for a very long time. They should just pay attention to the Secondary School system and if there’s some adjustment they need to, they should.”
Gyakie is an Afrobeat singer who is making waves in Ghana and abroad. Her first single, ‘Love is Pretty’ 2019 opened the door for more singles and features.
