KA Technologies Limited has successfully completed the nationwide distribution of laptops to teachers as part of the One Teacher One Laptop programme. The announcement was made in a press statement dated September 1, 2024.
In the statement, KA Technologies expressed its satisfaction with the achievement, noting, “We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the nationwide supply, training, and distribution of laptops to qualified teachers, including those at Kindergarten, Primary, Junior, and Senior High Schools, as well as teachers on study leave and non-teaching staff under the Ghana Education Service (GES).”
The firm highlighted the establishment of 24/7 Aftercare Centers across the country, which offer continuous customer and technical support. The new katcare App allows teachers to book repair services and purchase laptop accessories, with a toll-free line (0800790555) available for complaints and inquiries.
Launched by Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in September 2021, the One Teacher One Laptop programme aims to enhance education delivery through information and communication technology (ICT). The initiative provides a laptop to every public school teacher from Kindergarten to Senior High School, subsidizing 70% of the cost while teachers contribute the remaining 30%.
KA Technologies expressed its gratitude to teacher unions, including the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT), as well as the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, and other regulatory bodies.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to advancing digital technology and contributing to the transformation of Ghana’s education sector and economy.
