Captain of the Black Stars, Andre Ayew, has said, sharing his difficult moments prior to Ghana’s first group stage match against Portugal.
Despite his fighting spirit in Qatar to put smiles on the faces of Ghanaians, Ayew was not himself all through the tournament. He posted on his official Instagram page which was sighted by sixscribes.com that he lost his Godson, Adam, even before the Portugal match.
“Personally, it has been very difficult moments for me in the past few days. I lost my godson the morning before the Portugal game, and my daughter was also rushed to the hospital after the Uruguay. Thanks to the Almighty Allah, she’s getting better.” — he said
Andre Ayew expressed his regret as a team in the final group game against Uruguay. He further thanked his teammates and assured Ghanaians that the Black Stars are strong and will bounce back from the defeat in the future. Read full post below:
“Our final group match result was not what we were looking forward to in the tournament, but unfortunately it ended up this way. I am very, very proud of all my teammates for putting up a wonderful team spirit on and off the pitch, for our country Ghana.
