Matron Grabbed For Allegedly Stealing Food Consignment Of School
A school matron at Asukawkaw Senior High School in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region has been taken into police custody for allegedly smuggling food haul meant to be used in the school.
The matron by name, Madam Cynthia Delarko was caught by Mr Mark Oduro who happens to be the Assembly member of Asukawkaw Electoral Area, According to bum, he received tip-offs from concerned people. Mr Mark Oduro later surrendered the matron over to the Katanga Police for further scrutiny and investigations.
As quoted in the reports by Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Oduro listed “bags of rice, bags of beans, canned tomatoes in large and small sizes and a gallon of frytol vegetable oil” as part of the food items seen in possession of the matron.
The assembly member added that, Madam Cynthia Delarko was monitored and tracked of her dealings until she was finally caught in the actions.
Headmaster of Asukawkaw Senior High School, Mr John Sitsofe Nukunu, refused to comment on the incident and demanded GNA authorities to take the matter up.
However, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Mr Kennedy Frimpong, Katanga Police commander has confirmed the incident and has commented that the police are preparing a docket for Madam Cynthia.
