The Ministry of Education has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with eLearning Africa to officially position Ghana as the host nation for the 18th edition of the eLearning Africa Conference, scheduled to take place in Accra from June 3 to 5, 2026.
The prestigious international event, which focuses on the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) for education, training, and skills development across Africa, will bring together a wide range of stakeholders including policymakers, educators, development partners, and technology experts from across the continent and beyond.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister for Education, Hon. Clement Abas Apaak, described the partnership as a strategic milestone in Ghana’s ongoing efforts to reform and improve its education sector. He emphasized that the conference will serve as a platform to showcase Ghana’s achievements in key national initiatives such as the Ghana Accountability for Learning Outcomes Project (GALOP) and the Education Strategic Plan (2018–2030).
“This partnership is a bold step forward in Ghana’s educational transformation agenda,” Dr. Apaak stated. “Hosting the eLearning Africa Conference will not only demonstrate our commitment to quality education for all but also create opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange with global and Pan-African partners.”
Rebecca Stromeyer, Founder and CEO of eLearning Africa, expressed her excitement about Ghana hosting the event. She highlighted the importance of inclusive participation and cross-sector engagement.
“There will be a wide range of stakeholders gathering in Accra for three days,” Stromeyer said. “This is an opportunity to share experiences, explore innovations, and build partnerships that will shape the future of education in Africa.”
The 2026 eLearning Africa Conference is expected to attract hundreds of delegates, exhibitors, and experts, further positioning Ghana as a regional leader in educational innovation and digital transformation.
