The Headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SecTech), Abdulai Zakaria, is receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi after he was allegedly attacked by some students.
According to reports, unrest broke out on the school campus after students claimed they saw the headmaster burying what they believed to be a fetus in a nearby bush. Some students further alleged that the incident was linked to an alleged abortion involving a student.
The claims reportedly angered many students, who gathered in the early hours of Wednesday and confronted the headmaster. During the confrontation, he was allegedly assaulted and sustained injuries. Some school property was also damaged during the disturbance.
Mr. Zakaria was rushed to KATH for medical treatment. His current condition has not yet been made public.
Police officers have since been deployed to the school to restore order and maintain security. Reports indicate that investigators exhumed a body believed to be that of a baby from the location identified by the students as part of ongoing investigations.
The incident has disrupted academic activities, with teaching and learning temporarily suspended while authorities investigate the matter.
Police have not yet released an official statement on the case, and the allegations against the headmaster remain under investigation.
