Ghana’s Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has launched investigations into alleged acts of corruption involving the sale of teacher appointment letters and salary irregularities at the National Commission on Culture (NCC).

The details were revealed in the OSP’s latest half-year report, which highlights ongoing cases of suspected corruption and corruption-related offences across state institutions.

According to the report, the OSP is probing claims that some individuals demanded and received payments from applicants in exchange for teacher appointment letters — an act that undermines transparency and fairness in the education sector.

In addition, the anti-graft body is examining alleged irregularities surrounding the payroll at the National Commission on Culture, where certain salary payments are believed to have been processed improperly.

The OSP emphasized that both investigations are ongoing and assured the public of its commitment to pursue accountability and protect state resources.
