The Ghana Police Service has made a grim discovery in the case of a missing lecturer from the University of Education, Winneba (UEW). The remains of Professor Amedeker Koku Mawuadem, a member of the Physics Department under the Faculty of Science, have been recovered under troubling circumstances.
According to police sources, Prof. Amedeker was reported missing by his family, prompting an immediate investigation into his whereabouts. The search led authorities to his residence at Gyahadze, a suburb of Winneba, where his body was found buried in secrecy.
The discovery has sent shockwaves through the academic community and the Gyahadze township. Law enforcement officials have since exhumed the body and transferred it to a medical facility for preservation and autopsy.
Police say the autopsy will be critical in determining the exact cause of death, as investigations continue to uncover the circumstances leading to the professor’s mysterious and tragic demise.
