Some students of Wesley Senior High School in Konongo caused chaos after accusing teachers of being too strict during the Christian Religious Studies (CRS) WASSCE exam.
According to TV3, the students threw stones and sachet water at teachers, forcing them to run for safety. On Sunday night, September 7, 2025, the angry students also attacked the senior House Mistress by pelting her apartment with stones.
The attack reportedly happened because she stopped them from cheating during the exam. Heavy stones broke through her kitchen roof, and her garden of cocoyam, maize, cassava, and plantain was also destroyed.
A teacher revealed that the House Mistress was the main target. He explained that although the students completed their exam on Friday, they returned in their uniforms on Sunday to carry out the attack.
He added that he was warned about the planned assault but by then, a mob had already gathered at the school gate, threatening to harm the teachers. Some teachers sustained injuries and were treated at the hospital.
The matter has since been reported to the police, who are on high alert after the students threatened to strike again.
