A 45-year-old French teacher at the Labone Senior High School, Godwin Adigbli is facing a charge of indecent assault after allegedly molesting a female student of the school.

The French tutor entered a plea of not guilty and was granted bail set at GHC 50,000 with two sureties.

When he appeared before the District Court situated at the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Police Headquarters in Accra, the prosecution stated that the 45-year-old had allegedly entered the private part of the 16-year-old female student with his finger.

According to the summary of facts presented, the prosecution claimed that Godwin confessed to “inserting his fingers into the victim’s vagina and kissed her for a few minutes in the French lab of the school on August 28.”

He was later taken into custody on September 1, 2025, after the matter was reported to both the school’s management and the victim’s guardians.

The prosecution raised no objection to the bail request but urged the court to require the accused to report regularly to the police to assist with ongoing investigations.

Following this, the court granted Godwin Adigbli bail set at GHC 50,000, with two sureties to be verified.

Additionally, the court directed him to report every two weeks at the Cantonments Police Station until the case reaches its conclusion.

The presiding judge further instructed the prosecution to submit all relevant disclosures before the next sitting and adjourned proceedings to December 10, 2025, for continuation.
