World Cup 2022: Salis Samed Included, Wakaso On Standby, Ashimeru Dropped – Reasons For Decision Out 

Reliable reports have confirmed that Lens Salis Abdul Samed is among the 26-man squad selected by Otto Addo and his technical team to represent Ghana in Qatar 2022 World Cup. The French league 1 club which is second on the league table have benefited immensely from the defensive midfielder this season — featuring him in all 14 games.

32-year-old Mubarak Wakaso has been placed on standby, having 50/50 chance of making the final list. The aggressive midfielder played a part in the 2014 World Cup held in Brazil but management of the black stars are still not certain whether to include him considering his current form at club level.

Majeed Ashimeru who plays as a midfielder for Belgian First Division A club Anderlecht has been dropped. Despite the player being in form, his exclusion may be due to competition in the midfield department.

Although final list not out, it is obvious players like Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams, Thomas Partey and Jojo Wallacot will make the cup.
