Northern non-league Premier Division side, Ashton United have submitted 28-day loan bid for Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. Since Norway will not be part of Qatar 2022 WC, the seventh tier football club want Haaland to play a part in their coming fixtures until Premier League clubs resume from mundial break.
The news came as rumour until the club made an official announcement confirming they have demanded a loan bid for the Norwegian striker. According to the club statement, Manchester City will not be playing until after December 26, 2022 so their club which is close to City is ready to assist Haaland to stay in form until premier league resumes.
“It just makes sense… “City aren’t playing, and we want to help by keeping Erling fit, it makes more sense than him playing golf for six weeks. “We think he will be a great fit for us,and would slot in with our squad dynamic really well.” — Robins’ manager Michael Clegg said.
Coach Pep Guadiola of Manchester City has since not responded to the loan offer for Haaland. Haaland is set to spend the WC recess in Marbella and back in Norway to spend some quality time with family before returning to training with City. Manchester City is currently behind Arsenal on the league table.
