Host Nation, Qatar, have set unwanted record by being the first earliest host nation to be kicked out the FIFA tournament in its 92-year history. They spent around $220 billion on the construction of soccer stadia, roads and gave their cities new look for the 2022  World Cup.

The Qatar national team lost 2:0 to Ecuador in their opening match and further lost 3:1 to the African giants, Senegal, in their second group game — being the first and earliest Nation to exit the tournament. South Africa also exited in the group stage as a host in 2010 but had 4 points from a win and a draw in their three group games.

Qatar coach has admitted that his side was not that strong to progress from the group stages. “If you expected us to go very far in this tournament, then it will be a disappointment,” coach Félix Sánchez said. They will play Netherlands in their last match.
