Morocco have officially joined two European countries, Spain and Portugal to host the 2030 World Cup.

“The Kingdom of Morocco has decided, together with Spain and Portugal, to present a joint bid to host the 2030 World Cup,” the statement said.

The football federation of the three counties in the bid will meet in Rwanda on Wednesday before announcing any changes.

This would be the first kind in the history of football, bringing together Africa, Arab, Europe in hosting a World tournament.

The hosts of the 2030 FIFA World Cup would be officially picked and announced in September 2024.

Morocco made historic progress in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, being the first African nation to reach the men’s FIFA World Cup semi-finals.
