2022 World Cup: USA Become The First Country To Exit Round Of 16 After Losing To Netherlands 

The Americans have ended their 2022 FIFA World Cup race after losing 3:1 to Netherlands.  They become the first country to exit the tournament after the round of group stage matches.

Memphis Depay scored the opener for the Netherlands in the 10th minute of the first half. Daley Blind added another in the 41+ 1 minute before the referee blew his whistle for half time.

Haji Wright pulled one back for the Americans in the 76th minute but that was not enough to send them to the next round. Denzel Dumfries sealed it for the Netherlands when he added a third in the 81st minute. 

Netherland are through to the round of 8. They will meet either Argentina or Australia on December 9, at exactly 19:00GMT.
