Ghanaian highlife musician Akwaboah Jnr. has shared insights into how he prepared his wife for potential rumors and social media gossip prior to their marriage. In a recent interview, the ‘Posti Me’ singer revealed that he had conversations with his partner to brace her for possible public scrutiny.
“When I got married, if you followed what transpired on social media and the discussions that came up, people said a lot of things about me,” Akwaboah recounted. “The lucky thing that happened to me was that I had already advised my wife earlier to expect some of the things that happened.”
He emphasized the importance of these discussions, noting that when rumors began circulating after their wedding, they were both prepared and could approach the situation with a sense of humor. “So when the things I psyched her about started coming up, we would observe them and just laugh because we expected it,” he added.
Akwaboah also highlighted the significance of making conscious efforts to protect their marriage from external pressures. He mentioned that engaging in activities together, such as going out and having fun, helps in maintaining a strong bond. “If there’s a need for us to go chill, we go out, have fun, and later come home to sleep. We need to do whatever it takes to protect our marriage from breaking down,” he stated.
In previous interviews, Akwaboah has addressed various aspects of his personal life, including misconceptions about his marriage. He clarified that his pastor did not influence his decision to marry his current wife, stating, “The claims that our pastor forced her on me are untrue. He never asked me to quit my relationship with my baby mama.”
Additionally, Akwaboah has expressed his newfound appreciation for marriage, noting, “I didn’t know marriage was this sweet.”
These insights shed light on the proactive steps Akwaboah and his wife have taken to navigate public attention and maintain a strong, resilient partnership.
