Aliou Cissé And T. Tuchel Defend Sadio Mané After Dressing Room Bust-up With Sane
Senegal and Bayern Munich winger, Sadio Mane had a dressing room altercation with teammate Leroy Sane on Tuesday night after Bayern was defeated by Manchester City in a champions league match.
Both National Team and Club coaches have defended the player after the bust-up.
(Senegal coach): “This is dressing room stuff. I don’t want to make a big deal out of it. In fact, what happened shouldn’t even have come out of the dressing room. They say dressing rooms have secrets. Things that happen there must stay there” [@wiwsport]
Tuchel on Mané: “I’m the first one to defend him. I’ve known him for a very long time and only know him as an absolute professional. I also know his entourage. He has never been guilty of anything. It was against the code of conduct, he recognized it and apologized.”
According to media outlet BILD, Sadio Mané has been fined around half a million euros after the incident. Bayern have also announced on their Twitter page that the player will miss their match against TSG Hoffenheim: “Sadio Mané will not be part of the matchday squad against TSG Hoffenheim this weekend.”
