Atsu’s Agent Details How The Player Was Found Dead
Ghanaians and loved ones of Christian Atsu woke up this morning, February 18, 2023, to meet reports by news outlets and some close friends confirming the death of the Hatayspor and Ghanaian winger.
Earlier, it was reported that the player’s passport was found in his apartment but not the player. Atsu was reported to have survived the first strike of the quake but was later caught up and trapped under the rubble upon the subsequent quake.
Atsu’s agent, Nana Sechere who travelled to Turkey to assist in the search for the player has confirmed to the numerous reports that the player’s body was located this morning, lifeless.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well wishers that sadly Christian Atsu’s body was recovered this morning
My deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers and support”, Nana Sechere reported.
He further beseeched all and sundry to give room for the privacy of the family of Atsu even as they have been hit by this horrific news.
“I ask that whilst we make the necessary arrangements, that everyone would please respect the privacy of the family during this very difficult time.”
