Chelsea Football Club has announced the departure of Mauricio Pochettino from his role as head coach. The decision comes after mutual agreement between the club’s management and Pochettino himself.
Sporting Directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley conveyed their appreciation for Pochettino’s contributions during his tenure, stating, “On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, we would like to express our gratitude to Mauricio for his service this season.” They further expressed that Pochettino would always be welcomed back at Stamford Bridge and wished him success in his future endeavors.
In response, Pochettino expressed his gratitude to the club’s ownership group and Sporting Directors, acknowledging the opportunity to be a part of Chelsea’s history. He expressed confidence in the club’s future trajectory both domestically in the Premier League and in European competitions.
Alongside Pochettino, his coaching staff comprising Jesus Perez, Miguel d’Agostino, Toni Jimenez, and Sebastiano Pochettino have also departed from the club.
Chelsea FC has indicated that no further comments will be made until the appointment of a new Head Coach, leaving fans and pundits speculating on who will take the helm next. The departure of Pochettino marks a significant change for the club as they prepare for the upcoming season.
