Christian Atsu’s First Son Wins Player Of The Match Title  

The son of the late Christian Atsu, Joshua Atsupie, has won a football u-9 title, barely a week after the demise of his father.

Christian Atsu was confirmed dead twelve days after he was reported missing due to the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Turkey. In the early hours of February 18, the player’s agent and family members found his lifeless body which has since been transported to Ghana.

Mother of Atsupie, Marie-Claire Rupio, took to social media to share a photo of her son’s achievement with the caption “will make his dad proud”.

Joshua posed with the  Pro Motiv8 trophy, following the final glory with his side, Gosforth, who are partners of the Newcastle University. Christian Atsu played as a winger for  Newcastle United before joining other clubs to pursue his career.
