Court Proves Benjamin Mendy Not Guilty Of Six Counts Of Rape.

Manchester City and French footballer Benjamin Mendy has been found not guilty of six counts of rape and one count of sexual assault at Chester Crown Court. 

But, the player will face retrials of two charges since Jurors could not reach verdicts on one count of rape and one of attempted rape.

The premier league player, 28, expressed his appreciation to the jurors through his solicitor and further stated he is looking forward to ‘clearing his name’ during the remaining two retrails. 

Meanwhile, Manchester City have released a club statement saying the club is in no position to comment of the case for now.

“Manchester City FC notes the verdict from Chester Crown Court today, where a jury has found Benjamin Mendy not guilty of seven charges. The jury is hung on two charges and the trial is now over.

Given there are open matters related to this case, the Club is not in a position to comment further at this time”, the statement said.
