“When I started, no one knew who Asamoah Gyan was. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my brother. He’s the one behind my success,” he added.
The Tourism Minister of Ghana, Dr Ibrahim Awal, speaking on behalf of the president, named Gyan an ambassador for the government’s “Beyond the Return” programme.
Asamoah Gyan is the all-time leading goalscorer of the Ghana national team, with 51 goals. He represented Ghana at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups.
