At Suhyen in the New Juaben North Municipality, a young man in his 30s was electrocuted near an Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) transformer in Suhyen. The victim’s body was discovered by the transformer, indicating a possible attempted theft.
Emergency services, including a team from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and the Ghana Police Service, responded promptly to the scene. Initial investigations suggest that the man may have been electrocuted while trying to steal components from the transformer.
The deceased has been transported to St. Joseph’s Mortuary for an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death. The Effiduase Division of the Ghana Police Service is conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
Deputy NADMO officer for the New Juaben North Municipality, Kankam Twumasi Daniel, urged the community to stay vigilant and emphasized the dangers of tampering with electrical installations.
