Jaklai, Yeji — A devastating fire has razed a four-bedroom self-contained house in Jaklai, a suburb of Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region. The incident occurred just three days after a significant fire severely damaged a storey building in Kumasi, which houses HELLO FM near PZ and Roman Hill.

Eyewitnesses report that the fire at Jaklai broke out in the early hours of today, quickly engulfing the property. Despite efforts from residents to control the blaze, the fire consumed the entire structure, destroying personal belongings and leaving the occupants homeless.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in Yeji arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire, preventing its spread to nearby buildings. According to initial reports, the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but investigations are underway.

No casualties have been reported, but it is obvious that the affected family has been left traumatized by the loss of their home.

This incident closely follows the fire outbreak in Kumasi, where a storey building housing HELLO FM suffered significant damage. The recurrence of such destructive fires has raised concerns about fire safety and preventive measures in the affected communities.

Authorities are urging the public to adhere to fire safety protocols to minimize the risk of future occurrences.
