GES Sacks Students Of Chiana SHS Who Insulted President In Viral Video
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has finally dismissed a total of eight students of Chiana Senior High School in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region who were seen in a viral video using vulgar language on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo
According to report by Joy FM, one parent of the students has confirmed receipt of a letter signed by the Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr Eric Nkansah informing them of the dismissal of their wards with immediate effect.

The actions of the students were “considered very undesirable and contrary to the acceptable standards of conduct generally required of any student in our Educational system in Ghana. ”and that decision should be “a major turning point in her (the student’s) life to bring the desired change in her behaviour and attitude towards life.”
The GES described the act as “unfortunate”, adding that it is “against every educational and moral principle of our society.”
Late last year, the GES released a statement on Monday November 14, to investigate into identifying circumstances surrounding the misconduct.
“We wish to inform the general public that the students in the video have been identified as second year students of Chiana Senior High School in the Kassena Nankana West District. Management of the school has begun investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding such unfortunate utterances and gestures. Parents of the students have also been invited to assist in the investigations.” — the letter read.
