Management of Ghana Education Service has released a letter noticing a viral video of students of Chiana Senior High School using unacceptable words on the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo. They have hence condemned the behavior and called the leadership of the school to take appropriate measures to sanction every student involved.
They added further investigations are going on to identify circumstances surrounding the misconduct. “We wish to inform the general public that the students in the video have been identified as second year students of Chiana Senior High School in the Kassena Nankana West District. Management of the school has begun investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding such unfortunate utterances and gestures. Parents of the students have also been invited to assist in the investigations.” — the letter read.
The viral video has circulated online for days. It involved four girls, identified as students who were recording themselves and were boldly insulting the sitting president of Ghana. One girl based on “sika mp3 dede“, a statement made by the president during his address of the state of the economy to rain unprintable words on him. Others zealously supported the first girl with vulgar language, insulting the physicality of the president.
Social media users upon watching the video, chastised the students and called for authorities to take the girls on. While some blamed their parents for not bringing them up well, others blamed the constitution of Ghana which preaches democracy as the main cause of the girls’ misconduct.
